Thursday Thoughts

To My Absent Father

Dear Dad,

Congratulations, you were the first man to ever break my heart.

No Phone or No Privacy

Today, with children having access to technology unlike any generation before, parents are having a hard time figuring out how to balance their child's relationship with such technology. Where is the line between having them live beyond the screen and making them give up today's main social tool? Then there also comes the threat of online creeps, sexting, cyberbullying, etc. that goes along with the various social media the Internet and smart phones give us access to.

Oh, We're a "Thing"

"So what are you two?"

This has become of the most dreaded questions for us, not quite adults, that are part of the dating scene, and it has become harder and harder to answer over the years. You can see it now; you're in the car with your girl friends who are talking about their inconspicuous romantic encounters. And then they bring up your latest interest by asking, "So, what are you two?" leaving you in an extremely awkward position as you actually have to face the million dollar question. What do you say when the guy you're into doesn't fit the typical categories of talking, boyfriend or even friends with benefits?

Look Back at 2015...

A year that was full of as many lasts as it was firsts, 2015 is definitely one to remember. Between graduating from high school and starting college, this year was nothing less than pivotal in my life. Looking back, I'm not entirely sure how I feel about a few of the decisions I made, but I'm also one who believes that everything happens for a reason. Therefore, this year is just another chapter for the books, so join along as I take a walk down memory lane and reflect on one of the craziest years of my life so far.
